Bakshi Stadium: Srinagar: PM Modi shares pics of ‘majestic Shankaracharya Hills’ just ahead of his address in Bakshi Stadium


Prime Minister Narendra Modi today shared photos of Shankaracharya Hill in Kashmir, just before his address in the historic Bakshi Stadium in Srinagar. Prime Minister Narendra Modi arrived in Srinagar on Thursday to unveil a series of development projects worth over Rs 6,400 crore and address a public meeting. This visit marks Modi’s first trip to the Kashmir valley since the abrogation of Article 370 in August 2019. “Upon reaching Srinagar a short while ago, had the opportunity to see the majestic Shankaracharya Hill from a distance,” PM Modi shared pics on X, formerly known as Twitter.

Furthermore, Modi announced the ‘Dekho Apna Desh People’s Choice Tourist Destination Poll’ and the ‘Chalo India Global Diaspora’ campaign. At a gathering in Bakshi Stadium in Srinagar, Prime Minister Modi will unveil 43 initiatives. These include the Dekho Apna Desh People’s Choice Tourist Destination Poll, the Chalo India Global Diaspora Campaign, and the Holistic Agriculture Development Programme, which seeks to train 250,000 farmers.Furthermore, he will introduce an encompassing development plan for Srinagar’s iconic Hazratbal shrine. This blueprint encompasses various elements such as a tourist facilitation center, a Sufi interpretation center, a boundary wall, illumination for the ghats, signage, and a multi-level car park.

These initiatives fall under the Swadesh Darshan and Pilgrimage Rejuvenation And Spiritual Augmentation Drive (Prashad). The Chalo India Global Diaspora Campaign aims to motivate more than 30 million people of Indian descent residing abroad to act as ambassadors for Incredible India and promote tourism.

Upon landing at the Srinagar airport, the prime minister proceeded to Badamibagh Cantonment, the headquarters of the Army’s 15 or Chinar Corps. At the Badamibagh Cantonment, Modi paid homage to the fallen soldiers by laying a wreath at the War Memorial.

From there, Modi embarked on a cavalcade, passing through Gupkar and Zero Bridge, en route to Bakshi Stadium, where the ‘Viksit Bharat, Viksit Jammu Kashmir’ program was held.

To ensure a safe visit, stringent security measures were put in place. The roads from Badamibagh Cantonment to Bakshi Stadium were secured, and tricolours, BJP flags, and welcome hoardings were displayed along the route.

The security forces have deployed a significant number of personnel along Modi’s route in Srinagar, and barricades have been set up at various locations. Surveillance is being conducted using drones, CCTV cameras, and increased foot patrolling by the security forces within a two-kilometre radius of the venue.

In addition to the development projects, Modi inaugurated initiatives worth approximately Rs 5,000 crore to boost the agri-economy in the Union Territory. He also launched projects related to the tourism sector under the ‘Swadesh Darshan’ and ‘PRASHAD’ schemes, including the integrated development of the Hazratbal shrine.
