Lok Sabha election: Amit Shah and his wife own assets worth over Rs 65.67 crore, affidavit reveals


Union Home Minister Amit Shah, a prominent figure in the ruling Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP), filed his nomination for the Gandhinagar Lok Sabha constituency on April 19.
According to the affidavit, Shah and his wife own assets totaling Rs 65.67 crore. Notably, this marks a significant increase from the Rs 30.49 crore reported during the 2019 Lok Sabha elections, showing a growth of over 100 per cent in the past five years.

His movable assets, including cash, bank savings, deposits, gold, silver, and inherited property, amount to Rs 20.23 crore. Among these, Shah holds shares valued at over Rs 17.46 crore and precious metals worth more than Rs 72.87 lakhs. However, no vehicles were disclosed in his affidavit.

Meanwhile, his wife, Sonal Shah, owns movable assets exceeding Rs 22.46 crores, including cash, bank savings, stock investments, and deposits, as well as gold and silver jewelry valued at over Rs 1.10 crores.

In terms of immovable property, Amit Shah’s holdings total over Rs 16.31 crore, comprising agricultural land, semi-cultivated land, plots, and residences located in Vadnagar, Daskroi, Ashram Road, Thaltej, and Gandhinagar. Sonal Shah also holds immovable property valued at more than Rs 6.55 crore, including residential properties in various locations.

Additionally, Shah is facing three pending cases across different courts. During the previous Lok Sabha elections, he served as the national president of the BJP.
