CHESTERFIELD COUNTY, Va. (WRIC) — Crowds gathered at the Chesterfield County Fairgrounds this Saturday to enjoy the inaugural ‘Chesterfield Outdoor Fest,’ celebrating the beauty of the outdoors as a community.

This family-oriented event ran from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. on Saturday, April 13. It kicked off with an Earth Day 5k and Kid’s Mile, then kept the fun going with various other activities — such as a Touch-a-Truck and an animal showcase from the Richmond Zoo.

Rock climbing and fishing lessons were both offered to those interested, with event organizers previously telling 8News that the festival aimed to both celebrate small businesses and encourage residents to more deeply explore the outdoors of Chesterfield County.
