After publicly acknowledging the existence of Navy Joan Roberts in a statement issued July last year, President Joe Biden has once again refused to acknowledge his fifth granddaughter, fathered out-of-wedlock by first son Hunter Biden and Lunden Roberts. According to the New York Post, participating in a Women’s History Month reception at the White House Monday, he said, “I see a future for all Americans, a future for my daughter and my four granddaughters, by the way, they’re incredible.”

Joe Biden’s other grandchildren are Naomi, Finnegan, and Maisy, Hunter’s daughters with ex-wife Kathleen Buhle; Natalie, and Robert, the children of his late son Beau Biden and wife Hallie; and 4-year-old Beau, Hunter’s son with current wife Melissa Cohen.

Joe Biden ignores Navy Joan Roberts

He has claimed on many occasions that he has six grandchildren, deliberately ignoring 4-year-old Navy Joan Roberts.

But according to ‘People’ Magazine, Joe Biden said in a written statement last year, “Our son Hunter and Navy’s mother, Lunden, are working together to foster a relationship that is in the best interests of their daughter, preserving her privacy as much as possible going forward.”

Joe Biden faces criticism

According to the BBC, Hunter Biden’s paternity of Navy was established through DNA testing after Roberts sued for child support.

Earlier, Joe Biden came under scathing attacks from both Republicans and Democrats over his decision not to recognize Navy Joan Roberts. House Republican Elise Stefanik accused Mr Biden of “cold, heartless, selfish and cowardly” after the conclusion of the legal battle in June. She told the ‘Daily Mail’, “Every American knows that Joe Biden should have done the right thing years ago and acknowledged all of his grandchildren.”

Hunter Biden has four other children, including Beau, named after the president’s late son who died in 2015.
