“Narendra Modi’s guarantees are for both inside the country and outside,” he said, adding the Indian government would be there for any Indian who was in trouble outside the country. Jaishankar said he was in touch with his counterparts in both Israel and Iran. “Our government has been urging both the parties to find a way to de-escalate the situation… India has a lot of trade interests, cargo routes and oil supply channels in the region,” he said.
The world, he added, was going to face tough years ahead with economic tensions and global conflicts and the country needed a strong leader and stable government to remain the ocean of stability that it had become in the decade of the Modi-led NDA government. “Over the last decade, our global prestige has grown monumentally. We have secured Indians living abroad in unsafe conditions, chaired the G20, countered cross-border terrorism, and much more,” he said.
