Tyrese is weighing in after Rickey Smiley sent a message of support to Brian McKnight‘s “disowned” children.

Here’s What Rickey Smiley Said To Brian McKnight’s Estranged Kids
Earlier this week, Smiley took to Instagram to share a video message for McKnight’s kids. In the clip, he explained that he was “stunned and horrified” by the singer’s recent exchanges with his children. To note, McKnight recently went viral for saying one of his children was “born out of evil.”
In light of the comment, Smiley shared a message for “all” of McKnight’s kids.
“I want to let you know that you have a lot of support out here,” he said. “…If anyone gets this message out to Brian McKnight’s two sons and daughter: you are always welcome to the state of Alabama… where you have men and you have uncles and you have a lot of people that… take on kids that have been abandoned by fathers.”
Smiley went on to explain that if McKnight’s kids ever feel “unloved” or need a father figure, there are people like himself who would be “more than happy” to take on that role for them.
“You are not thrown away. You are not garbage. You are loved [and] you are to be respected,” he continued.
Furthermore, Smiley captioned his post with a few additional words for McKnight’s kids:
“I want the adult children of #BrianMcKnight who’ve been #disowned to know they have a lot of support out here. You are not thrown away.”

Smiley’s video appeared to reach one of McKnight’s children. Brian McKnight Jr. reacted to the clip with a brief comment of gratitude.
“I really appreciate this man! All we can do is pray for that man now. 🙏🏾” he wrote.
Tyrese Weighs In
“Can someone please get this message to Ricky Smiley? He uploaded the video chiming in to the ongoing issue with Brian McKnight and his family. I’m not addressing Brian or his wife, that’s not my business. I’m just responding to a comment that Ricky Smiley made… Ricky Smiley… It’s gloves off let’s have a grown grown conversation about these dynamics…”
In the clip, Tyrese explained that he has the utmost respect for Smiley. However, he believes it was “unfair” for Smiley to weigh in on Brian McKnight’s “specific dynamic” with his family.
“There have been specific things done over the years that are nobody’s business that has contributed to where they are,” he explained. “…Man, kids out here be saying some f****d up s**t, bruh… Kids out here be going above and beyond to cross you. I do not what that man… or his kids.. or anything about anything.”
Tyrese explained that he has a personal relationship with Brian McKnight. However, they have never discussed McKnight’s family, and he does not believe it is his “business” to ask or share public comments on the topic.
“What I am talking about is I feel like it is not fair to act as if relationships between men and their children… can’t fall apart,” he said.
