Samajwadi Party manifesto: Samajwadi Party promises to completely eradicate poverty in the next 5 year in its manifesto


Akhilesh Yadav-led Samajwadi Party (SP) today promised that, if it comes to power, the party will completely eradicate poverty by 2029. Releasing the manifesto, titled ‘Janta Ka Maang Patra – Humara Adhikar’, party president Akhilesh Yadav said that the party will ensure the participation of all sections of society in the private sector and completely eliminate poverty by 2029.

Akhilesh Yadav also outlined several key promises including a caste-based census by 2025, a legal guarantee for Minimum Support Price (MSP), and the discontinuation of the Agnipath scheme.

The manifesto, spanning 20 pages, advocates for a PDA (Pichde, Dalit, and Alpasankhyak) government, a term coined by Yadav. SP is part of the opposition Indian National Developmental Inclusive Alliance (INDIA) bloc.

Yadav addressed a press conference, highlighting the plan for a caste-wise census post the formation of the INDIA bloc government. The objective is to fill all vacant government posts of Scheduled Castes, Scheduled Tribes, and Backward Classes by 2025. Additionally, he pledged to annul the Agnipath military recruitment scheme and implement regular armed forces recruitment.

Among other assurances, the manifesto vows to reinstate the old pension scheme, ensure inclusive participation in the private sector, and eradicate poverty by 2029. It commits to providing a legal guarantee of MSP for farmers, waiving agricultural loans, offering free irrigation facilities, and establishing a Farmers’ Commission. Furthermore, a monthly pension of Rs 5,000 for landless small and marginal farmers is promised.

The manifesto pledges a zero-tolerance stance against crimes against women, with the introduction of a nationwide helpline, and aims for 33% reservation for women in Parliament and Assemblies within two years of assuming power. It also plans to reserve 33% of government jobs for women.In terms of welfare measures, the SP promises to replace wheat with flour in free rations and provide free mobile data worth Rs 500 to every ration card-holding family. The manifesto advocates for the right to free education, a hike in the education budget to 6% of GDP, a legal guarantee for quality healthcare, and bridging the digital divide.The manifesto opposes privatization and layoffs in central and state public sector units and proposes the establishment of smart village clusters across the nation, operated through the Smart Village Cluster Development Authority.

In the upcoming elections, SP will contest 62 out of 80 Lok Sabha seats in Uttar Pradesh, with the Congress contesting 17 seats and the Bhadohi Lok Sabha seat allocated to the Trinamool Congress.
