lok sabha polls: PM Modi pauses ‘Mann Ki Baat’ as code of conduct for Lok Sabha polls kicks in

The BJP, on Sunday, asked listeners of Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s flagship show ‘Mann Ki Baat’ to share their favorite Mann Ki Baat stories on social media, as the broadcast takes a hiatus in light of the upcoming Lok Sabha polls.

“Join us today at 11am onwards and share your favorite #MannKiBaat stories on social media,” the ruling party said in a post on X. Last month, PM Modi announced that he would be pausing his monthly programme ‘Mann Ki Baat’ after its 11oth show.

“There is an atmosphere of Lok Sabha elections in the country and as happened last time, there is a possibility that the code of conduct will also be imposed in the month of March,”the post on social media platform X stated. ‘Mann Ki Baat’ will not be telecast for the next three months in these days of Lok Sabha elections.

Prime Minister expressed confidence in winning the election for the third consecutive time, remarking, “When we interact in Mann ki Baat next time, it will be the 111th episode.” Despite the program taking a hiatus, he emphasized that the nation’s progress will not stall and urged people to continue sharing India’s achievements on social media using the hashtag ‘Mann Ki Baat’. He urged listeners to share small videos from already aired episodes of ‘Mann Ki Baat’ will be shared in the form of YouTube shorts.

Last month, Modi emphasized the importance of first-time voters participating in the electoral process, highlighting the Election Commission’s initiative ‘Mera Pehla Vote – Desh Ke Liye’. He encouraged them to vote in record numbers, stressing that as they turn 18, they have the opportunity to elect members for the 18th Lok Sabha. He underlined that this signifies the representation of youth aspirations in the 18th Lok Sabha, thereby increasing the significance of their vote.
