govinda mumbai north west: ‘Hero No. 1’ Govinda may be fielded by Shinde Shiv Sena from Mumbai North West seat

Popular bollywood actor Govinda is reportedly considering a return to politics as the 2024 Lok Sabha elections draw near. According to reports, Govinda may contest from the North-West Mumbai Lok Sabha seat on the Shiv Sena ticket led by Eknath Shinde against Shiv Sena-UBT’s Amol Kirtikar, who is the son of sitting MP from Shinde camp Gajanan Kirtikar.

Speculation surrounding Govinda’s potential entry into politics gained traction after a recent meeting between the actor and Maharashtra Chief Minister Shinde, as reported by PTI. The meeting, held last week, has intensified rumors of Govinda’s political comeback.

Govinda, who previously served in the political realm, contested the Mumbai North Lok Sabha seat in 2004 under the Congress banner. He defeated the BJP veteran leader Ram Naik. However, Govinda later parted ways with the Congress party and decided not to contest elections in 2009 Lok Sabha polls.

As discussions surrounding his political aspirations gain momentum, the actor’s potential candidacy from the North-West Mumbai constituency remains a subject of interest. With his past experience in electoral politics, Govinda’s prospective return adds an intriguing dimension to the upcoming Lok Sabha elections.
