Prime Minister Narendra Modi made a ‘memorable’ two-day state visit to Bhutan on March 22-23. PM Modi received a grand welcome from Bhutan’s king and his Bhutanese counterpart. The PM was honoured with the country’s highest civilian award, the order of the Druk Gyalpo. Bhutan’s special gestures made the visit a memorable one as PM became the first foreign head of government to receive Bhutan’s highest civilian award. In a special gesture, PM Modi was hosted by the king of Bhutan at the Lingkana Palace for a private dinner. The entire family of the Bhutan’s king was present for the dinner, including his children.
