Mario running through a metropolitan city

This upcoming Saturday is March 10, which means Nintendo’s annual celebration of its iconic plumber is here. This year’s MAR10 Day might not herald any large announcements since we just got a handful of Mario games last year, and the influx of titles to the Switch seems to be winding down in anticipation of its long-awaited successor. (And, of course, there is Princess Peach: Showtime! coming on March 22, which has a demo available right now.) However, there are still plenty of pretty sweet sales happening, so it’s a great time to pick up a game or accessory featuring Nintendo’s mascot.

Here are some of the best deals happening around this year’s Mario Day.

Games get a big discount

First up are games. Nintendo is giving games starring Mario and friends a steep price cut. While most of these titles typically cost $59.99, the current sales have knocked many down to $39.99, with others even going for under $20.

The Nintendo Store has a sale running until March 17 at 11:59 p.m. PT on digital and physical copies. Here are some choice picks to get:

Meanwhile, some more recent games are available at a discount at Walmart. If you want to pick up the psychedelic 2D platformer Super Mario Bros Wonder or the delightfully remade Super Mario RPG, then Walmart is the place to do it. Only physical copies are on sale, but you should be buying those for media preservation anyway!

Switch Online extended trial

If you want to play some classic Mario titles from the NES and other retro platforms, then you’ll want to have a subscription to Nintendo Switch Online. As part of MAR10 Day, Nintendo is offering an extended free trial of the service that will last 14 days as opposed to the usual seven. This offer is available to claim until March 17.

PowerA accessories

Also over on Amazon is a sale on select Mario-themed PowerA accessories for the Nintendo Switch. PowerA makes controllers and cases for the Switch, and the themed offerings are a fun alternative to the business black of the Switch Pro controller. There are wired and wireless controllers and a plethora of designs to choose from, with wired controllers on sale for under $20. Check out the deals page for more.
