Early Exit From Kendrick Lamar & Drake’s Beef Trends

Chile! The innanet is eating up what Kendrick Lamar served on this random Tuesday (April 30): a much-anticipated response diss at Drake. While K Dot’s bars trend, so is J. Cole!

Social media users are kiki-ing over Cole’s decision to bow out from the beef early on. This comes after Kendrick threw shots at Drizzy’s fatherhood, pen game, sexuality, Black identity, and more in the newly released, six-minute track ‘Euphoria.’

Why Is J. Cole Trending?

For context, in March, Kendrick made his beef with Drizzy known on Future and Metro Boomin’s song ‘Like That.’ He dragged J. Cole into the conversation when he challenged his and Drake’s claims on ‘First Person Shooter’ of being part of the “big three” in rap.

In early April, Cole released a surprise album, and the last track, ‘7 Minute Drill,’ took shots at Kendrick’s discography. Immediately, fans and critics online dissected Cole’s response and celebrated “real rap” being back! Even Jill Scott shared her round of applause online.

But, two days later, the bubbling rap feud swerved into a different lane. While performing at his Dreamville Fest, Cole backtracked on dissing Kendrick Lamar and seemingly offered an apology. Videos of the moment trended for DAYS after.

“How many people think Kendrick Lamar is one of the greatest motherf**kers to ever to touch a f**king mic,” Cole asked the audience. “Dreamville y’all love Kendrick Lamar correct? As do I. So, I just want to come up here and publicly be like bruh that was the lamest, goofiest sh*t to me…it made me feel like 10 years ago when I was moving incorrectly.”

Since then, Cole hasn’t publicly said anything else about the boiling beef. A few days after the apology, he was spotted in New York supporting his artist BAS, who was on the American leg of his tour at the time.

Now, as social media continues to explode with reactions to Kendrick’s ‘Euphoria,’ Cole is again caught in the smoke! This time, though, folks online seem to be praising his decision to bow out early on.

As expected, Cole has yet to hop online to address Kendrick’s new drop or social media’s trolling.

Meanwhile, Metro Boomin — whom Drake told to “shut up” and “make some drums” on ‘Push Ups’ — has already shared his reaction to K Dot’s new diss.
