More Details On Chrissy & Jimmy’s Relationship
Chrissy and Jim Jones have been in a relationship for two decades. Their journey captivated audiences when it unfolded on VH1’s ‘Love & Hip Hop: New York’ beginning in 2011. The couple later offered fans a deeper look into their love story with their own spin-off series, which premiered on VH1 in 2012. The show ran for two seasons but didn’t get a third.
However, what really catapulted the couple into a trending topic was when Chrissy decided to get down on her own knees ask Jimmy to marry her at the end of season one of ‘Love & Hip Hop,’ per Bleu Mag.
Although the moment left the rapper stunned on television, he did accept. The viral scene still gets talked about by fans to this day!
Furthermore, almost three years later Jim decided to do his own heartfelt proposal to Chrissy on a 2012 episode of ‘Love & Hip Hop.’ In 2019, the couple went viral again when they suggested during season 10 that they were no longer interested in marriage. Lampkin noted that they had shifted away from seeking commitment but emphasized that they were in a great place.
“To be honest with you, it’s not a priority anymore. Our relationship is in a good place. I thought that marriage was the natural progression, but it’s not for everybody. So, we’re good right now,” Chrissy said.
In 2022, TSR covered a viral clip featuring the longtime duo. While vacationing on a boat, Jones asked Chrissy about their future wedding plans, questioning, “You don’t want to get married to me?” To which Chrissy responded firmly, “No!”
“For real, I can’t make you want to get married. I can only ask you and tell you that’s what I wanna do,” Jones responded.
Chrissy then explained that while Jimmy expects certain things from her, he often comes across as “mean” and “distant” in response.
“You want me to be this loving, sexual, crazy, cook, this, that and the other. But you come home and you’re mean and you’re cold and you’re distant.”
