Arizona vs. Virginia Tech: The #8 Hokies went down to the #10 Wildcats, 6-2 in the Taxact Clearwater Invitational. Despite the loss, Virginia Tech had an incredible performance from pitcher Emma Lemley who recorded a career-best 17 strikeouts over seven innings. Morgan Overaitis hit a pinch-hit home run in the fifth inning to cut Arizona’s lead to 2-1. A solo home run by UCLA’s Olivia DiNardo and a three-run home run by Blasise Biringer in the seventh inning were the difference in the game.
