“Gaurav Gogoi seems to know the correct posture of offering Namaz”: Himanta Biswa attacks Congress over appeasement politics
Gogoi was holding a rally along with Rahul Gandhi during Nyay yatra in Assam on the day of Ram Mandir congregation in January this year.
Sarma alleged that it is a kind of appeasement politics towards the Muslim society that Gogoi is trying hard, but Sarma added that the Muslims need development and jobs.
Sarma said, “Gaurav Gogoi seems to know the correct posture of offering Namaz. I don’t know where he learned it. But there is a question here that the way he and Akhil Gogoi have shown so much devotion about Eid, why did they /he not show the same during Ram mandir Pran Pratistha? When Pran Pratishtha was happening, he was fighting administration and breaking laws while being beside Rahul Gandhi in the roads of Assam during Nyay yatra.”
He has committed a big sin that he has not even visited Ram mandir once. He doesn’t go to Kamakhya temple. “We have so many other festivals, but we don’t see his devotion there.People like him love no one. No Hindu no Muslim. The Muslim Society of Assam does not need this kind of appeasement”.
In January this year Congress party said that senior Congress leader Rahul Gandhi was not allowed from performing Darshan and paying obeisance at the Batadrava Than, the birthplace of saint Sri Sri Sankardev. This was done despite the managing committee already having granted permission to Gandhi to visit the temple. Travelling through Assam’s Morigaon district Gandhi has been stopped from holding a street corning meet and a padyatra, or foot march. Srimanta Sankardeva was an Assamese saint and scholar from the 15th century, at Batadrava on the day of the Ram temple event.The congress party stated Gandhi was then compelled to sit on the road in protest. He was not allowed to proceed to Batadrava Than at Nagaon, for which permission was earlier granted. But it was revoked late last night, apparently at the behest of the Assam Chief minister. The management committee of the Than had asked Rahul to visit after 3pm.
