Here’s What Ray J Requested In His Response To Princess Love’s Divorce Filing

According to PEOPLE, Ray J, whose real name is Willie Ray Norwood, responded to Love’s divorce filing on Thursday, April 4. Norwood is requesting that he and Love share joint legal and physical custody of their two children, Melody and Epik.

To note, Melody is five years old, and their son Epik is 4.

Additionally, Norwood is requesting that spousal support between him and Love be determined at a later date. Furthermore, the singer is also asking that he and his estranged wife be allowed to split “several of their assets.”

This reportedly includes “miscellaneous jewelry and other personal effects” and Ray J’s earnings “since their date of separation.” However, the pair’s date of separation reportedly remains to be determined.

“There are additional separate property assets and obligations of the parties, the exact nature and extent of which are not presently known,” Norwood’s filing reportedly adds.

Lastly, the singer reportedly requests that he and Love be responsible for their own attorney’s fees.

A Brief Recap Of How The Couple Revealed Their Divorce — For The Fourth Time

As The Shade Room previously reported, Love revealed her and Norwood’s decision to divorce on February 26. PEOPLE adds that Love’s latest divorce filing was made in Los Angeles, California.

At the time, Love took to social media to explain her and Norwood’s decision.

“It is with heavy hearts that we share the news of our decision to divorce. After much reflection, discussion, and counseling, we have come to the difficult realization that our paths have diverged, and it is in the best interest of both of us to part ways,” she wrote.

The mother of two revealed that she and Norwood’s decision was made with “mutual respect,” and their focus would remain on keeping a “positive” co-parenting relationship.

To note, this is the couple’s fourth divorce filing since they tied the knot in 2016, per PEOPLE. As The Shade Room previously reported, Love initially filed for divorce from Norwood in 2020.

Love dismissed her petition that same year. However, Norwood followed up with his own divorce filing.

In March 2021, the pair reconciled. However, in October 2021, Love would file for divorce again before she and Norwood made up in March 2023.

Here’s What’s Happened Since

Weeks after Love’s latest divorce filing, she was spotted seemingly getting cozy with film producer John Boyega. As The Shade Room previously reported, in March, the pair were captured on video while participating in karaoke with friends.

At one point in the clip, Boyega is seen wrapping his arm around Love.

Subsequently, the clip of Boyega and Love’s interaction went viral, leading Ray J to share his response publicly.
